Tavern is independent tabletop software for 5e-compatible play. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or approved by Wizards of the Coast, Hasbro, D&D Beyond, or any other publisher or rights holder. Dungeons & Dragons, the D&D logo, D&D Beyond, and other referenced product names are trademarks of their respective owners.
Character imports, including D&D Beyond imports, are conversion tools. Tavern attempts to rebuild a character in Tavern's own catalog format using SRD-licensed content, user-provided character data, and original Tavern labels and summaries.
Tavern does not copy or provide non-SRD sourcebook text, artwork, logos, trade dress, or protected source descriptions through import. Where possible, Tavern maps imported choices to SRD-licensed rules or original Tavern labels with comparable gameplay function. Some names, descriptions, and feature text may be changed, summarized, omitted, or replaced with editable placeholders.
Third-party names may appear only to identify user-provided import data, explain a before/after mapping, or describe compatibility. That reference does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or ownership by Tavern.
You can rename anything on your character sheet to whatever you like. Tavern lets you paste arbitrary text into name fields, notes, and descriptions because that's what tabletop players do — your character is yours.
You are responsible for what you write. If you choose to type the name of a copyrighted or trademarked work, mechanic, or character on your sheet, that is your decision and your liability — not Tavern App's. Public sharing (via the share-link feature) makes that content visible to anyone with the URL, so be thoughtful about what you publish.

Include: the work alleged to be infringed, the URL of the infringing material on Tavern, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, and a signature (electronic or physical). We will review and respond within 10 business days.
You can delete your account and all your characters at any time from the account settings. Tavern stores only what's needed to render your character sheet (name, stats, choices, optional portrait). We do not sell or share user data.
Tavern is provided as-is. We do our best to keep your characters available and our math correct, but we don't promise uptime, rules accuracy, or zero data loss. Use the export feature regularly to keep a local backup of any character you can't afford to lose.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the homepage. Continued use of Tavern after a change means you accept the new terms.
