Can I keep using Tavern for free?

Yes. Adventurer stays free for building characters, creating homebrew, joining campaigns, and rolling on a friend's table. Paid tiers support hosting, unlimited characters, and DM tools.

What does Founder access include?

Founder access remains active for the lifetime of the Tavern service, subject to the Terms. You also get a permanent Founder number and a gold badge beside your name across Tavern. Feature names, limits, and availability may change before and after v1.0. Capped at 1000 seats.

Is my Founder number really permanent?

Yes. Once a number is issued it is never renumbered, never reused, and never reassigned — including after a refund, a chargeback, or an account deletion. That means the 1000 seats are 1000 numbers ever issued: a returned seat does not go back on sale.

Can I switch tiers mid-cycle?

Yes. Upgrade is immediate (prorated). Downgrade applies at the end of your current period. Your data stays put.

Is homebrew really free?

Yes. Tavern is player-driven — the public library only grows if every player can contribute. Create unlimited items / spells / feats / classes / races / weapons / monsters / conditions / traits at the free tier and share them publicly or keep them private. Paid tiers add characters and DM tooling, not gates on creation.

What does "view + dice" mean on the free tier?

If a DM friend invites you to their VTT table, you can see the map and tokens, move your token, and roll dice. You cannot host your own table until DM tier.

When do I get charged?

Paid buttons open Stripe Checkout. No payment is taken until you review the tier and confirm the purchase on Stripe.
